Sustainable energy demand worldwide is increasing rapidly. There is a significant need for powerful machines capable of converting agricultural waste into solid fuel. This research project aims to design and fabrication of automated briquetting machines for biomass replacement in industrial processes. This machine makes the same-size Firestarter cubes from biomass. The main goal is to develop a low-cost, fully automated briquetting machine. This machine should reduce manpower requirements and produce strong, high-quality briquettes. This machine has four main subsystems. There is a crew conveyor for metal feeding and controlling the material ratios. There is a crusher to crush the materials into small pieces. There is a mixture of adding the binding material and mixing the materials. There is a tank to store the prepared mixture. A piston-driven extrusion system is used for compaction. Operation is controlled by a PLC-based system equipped with sensors, motor drivers, and safety interlocks to ensure accurate sequencing and protect operators. Experimental trials demonstrated that the machine produced uniform briquettes with dimensional variations of ±2%. Biomass has improved mechanical properties, such as torque, shear strength, and compressive strength. These test results show how the briquette machine can deliver an effective combination of mechanical strength, automation, and ease of production. This system can turn farm wastage into valuable fuel. It helps to sustain industries.
